Mission:
Colmena Fund accelerates the power of women in formal political spaces across the Global South, especially those marginalized by oppressive systems—such as racialized women, Indigenous peoples, people with disabilities, and queer and gender nonbinary individuals—by catalyzing philanthropic support, funding partner organizations, and strengthening the enabling environment for feminist and democratic leadership.
Colmena means “hive” in Spanish—a symbol of community, connection, and collective strength.
Channel Grant:
2025-27: Channel made a two-year grant to the Colmena Fund (via fiscal sponsorship of Rockefeller Philanthropy Advisors) to support their mission of accelerating the power of women in formal political spaces across the Global South.
