An Evening with Cultural Survival

June 11, 2019 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm PDT

Cultural Survival Event Speaker

Channel Foundation and their grantee partner Cultural Survival, an Indigenous People’s rights organization, organized an event focused on their work on June 11, 2019 at the Stonington Gallery, 125 S. Jackson in Pioneer Square, Seattle.

Cultural Survival partners with Indigenous Peoples to defend their land, languages and cultures. Community Media Program Manager Avex Cojti (Maya K’iche’) from Guatemala shared stories about Cultural Survival’s latest work with Indigenous communities from around the world.

Channel has supported CS’s work with Indigenous women community radio producers in Central America since 2015.

Cultural Survival’s vision is to create a lasting impact in community radio and other community institutions where gender inequities exist, lifting up Indigenous women and strengthening the connections between international women’s rights movements and Indigenous rights.

Join Cultural Survival for a compelling conversation, light refreshments and an exploration of the ways they amplify Indigenous voices.

RSVP by June 5, 2019 by emailing Miranda Vitello at mvitell at cs.org.
