Mission:
OutRight works at the international, regional and national levels to research, document, defend, and advance human rights for LGBTIQ people around the world. They partner directly with human rights defenders, allies and organizations to produce reliable data on the experiences of LGBTIQ people around the world and support research-based advocacy and capacity-building for the human rights of LGBTIQ people.
Impact:
Since their formation in 1990, Outright International has been at the forefront of the fight for LGBTIQ rights, inclusion, and equality worldwide. Through every victory and every setback, they have remained unwavering in their commitment to amplifying the voices of activists, challenging oppressive laws, and ensuring that no one is left behind. Their 35th anniversary microsite, launched in 2025, explores the milestones, victories, and challenges that have shaped their movement as they continue to fight for a future where every LGBTIQ person can live freely and authentically without fear.
Channel Grants:
2025-27: Channel made a two-year grant to OutRight International to continue supporting their programing and advocacy focused on the leadership and rights of lesbian, bisexual and queer (LBQ) women within their larger mission fighting to eradicate the persecution, inequality and violence that LGBTIQ people face around the world.
2021-24: Channel made a three-year grant to OutRight International to support their programming focused on the leadership and rights of lesbian, bisexual and queer (LBQ) women within their larger mission fighting to eradicate the persecution, inequality and violence that LGBTIQ people face around the world. Funds may also be used to support LBQ groups.
In 2022, on International Women’s Day, OutRight launched LBQConnect, a global feminist program aimed at boosting the visibility of lesbian, bisexual, and queer activism around the world.
2020: Channel made a grant to OutRight International to support its COVID 19 Emergency LGBTIQ Response Fund. This fund helps grassroots LGBTIQ organizations on the frontlines of responding to the global COVID 19 pandemic via small grants and also supports OutRight’s own advocacy work responding to COVID-19.

These media highlight stories of LGBTIQ people and allies from across the globe interviewed by OutRight’s staff members. OutRight TV features informal conversations about the experiences, feelings, challenges, and anxieties, as well as hopes, that LGBTIQ people and allies are experiencing in light of the Coronavirus pandemic.
