{"id":25513,"date":"2025-11-14T10:46:11","date_gmt":"2025-11-14T18:46:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.trockwebdesign.com\/channel\/?p=25513"},"modified":"2026-01-16T13:17:39","modified_gmt":"2026-01-16T21:17:39","slug":"funding-report-first-of-its-kind-for-region","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.trockwebdesign.com\/channel\/2025\/11\/14\/funding-report-first-of-its-kind-for-region\/","title":{"rendered":"Funding Report \u201cFirst of its Kind\u201d for Region"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Grantee partner\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.channelfoundation.org\/grants\/dalanfund\/\">Dalan Fund<\/a>\u2019s July 2025 report introduced the first-ever analysis for funding in intersectional organizing across Central and Eastern Europe, the Caucasus, and Central and North Asia (CEECCNA), titled\u00a0\u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/dub.sh\/witm-ceeccna\">Growing Against All Odds: Mapping Funding for Intersectional Organizing in the CEECCNA Regions<\/a>\u201d.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Activists created the Dalan Fund in 2023 to mobilize resources for grassroots organizers across the CEECCNA regions, where movements have been historically overlooked and underfunded from a global perspective.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The report gives a crucial reflection on the state of social justice funding, findings relevant to funders not only locally but also across the globe.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Gathering data from 257 organizers across 16 countries in the CEECCNA region, the report tracks the trends, opportunities, and challenges of funding from 2019 to 2023 for feminist, indigenous, LGBTQIA+ and other intersectional movements.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u00a0The report&#8217;s key findings include the following:\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>LGBTQIA+ rights, economic justice, sex workers\u2019 rights, and Roma rights<\/strong>&nbsp;remain among the most underfunded issues.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The <strong>average budget<\/strong> for organizations was consistently <strong>between $11,000 and $30,000<\/strong> from 2019 to 2023. Over the past five years, organizers in<strong>&nbsp;Central Asia<\/strong>&nbsp;have shown the most dramatic decline as a percentage of their budgets.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>As of 2023,&nbsp;<strong>63%&nbsp;<\/strong>of initiatives will last less than<strong>&nbsp;6 months<\/strong>&nbsp;without additional funding.
