Channel partner OutRight Action International launched LBQ Connect, a global feminist program aimed at lifting up supporting, and highlighting lesbian, bisexual, and queer (LBQ) activism around the world.\u00a0On International Women\u2019s Day 2022 (March 8), Channel partner <\/span>OutRight Action International<\/span><\/a> launched <\/span>LBQ Connect<\/span><\/a>, a global feminist program aimed at lifting up, supporting, and highlighting lesbian, bisexual, and queer (LBQ) activism around the world. The program is based on the belief that a strong LBQ movement is necessary for advancing the human rights of all LGBTIQ people and improving the lives of all women. <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

According to former Channel partner <\/span>Mama Cash<\/span><\/a> (based on <\/span>data from 2020<\/span><\/a>), only 5% of global LBGTIQ funding (itself a small amount compared to many other funding areas) is specifically directed toward LBQ issues, even while LBQ women face a unique set of human rights violations at the intersections of gender, sexuality, race, class, and disability.\u00a0 In addition, even while being active participants and even leaders in almost every movement around the world, LBQ women haven\u2019t always received the recognition they deserve.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

To account for the multifaceted nature of marginalization faced by LBQ women, OutRight\u2019s program utilizes different strategies to strengthen the LBQ movement, including:<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
