{"id":6416,"date":"2023-04-20T16:51:25","date_gmt":"2023-04-20T16:51:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.channelfoundation.org\/?p=6416"},"modified":"2023-04-20T16:51:25","modified_gmt":"2023-04-20T16:51:25","slug":"ifip-launches-report-on-indigenous-funding-trends","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.trockwebdesign.com\/channel\/2023\/04\/20\/ifip-launches-report-on-indigenous-funding-trends\/","title":{"rendered":"IFIP Launches Report on Indigenous Funding Trends"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>On April 20, 2023, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.channelfoundation.org\/grants\/ifip\/\">International Founders for Indigenous Peoples (IFIP)<\/a>, a Channel grantee partner, held a launch event at the Ford Foundation for their upcoming report, &#8220;Global Funding Trend Analysis on Indigenous Peoples Philanthropy.&#8221; The report, developed by IFIP and <span class=\"x_spellingerror\">Archipel<\/span><span class=\"x_normaltextrun\"> Research and Consulting, is a &#8220;global analysis of the state of funding to Indigenous Peoples between 2016 and 2019.&#8221; The report found that only 0.6% of funding went directly to Indigenous Peoples organizations.<\/span><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>At the launch, IFIP shared their <a href=\"https:\/\/internationalfunders.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/Funding-Trend-Analysis-on-Indigenous-Peoples-Philanthropy-20-Recommendations-for-Future-Actions.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">20 Recommendations for Future Actions, Funding Trend Analysis on Indigenous Peoples Philanthropy<\/a>. These recommendations serve as a tool for funders that are committed to centering Indigenous rights and leadership and addressing barriers to funding Indigenous Peoples. The recommendations follow the 5Rs of Indigenous Philanthropy: respect, relationships, responsibility, reciprocity, and redistribution.
